Volkswagen CEO ALL-NEW Sodium-Ion Battery FINALLY Hit The Market In a world of innovative technology, a new development has presented itself in the automotive industry. A sodium battery has been used for the very first time in a Volkswagen car, an incredible milestone that stands to benefit drivers everywhere. This powerful battery is not only long-lasting and more efficient than traditional lithium-ion batteries but also cheaper and better for the environment. How will the sodium battery perform in a real-world setting? Will it be as efficient as lithium-ion batteries? And most importantly, can it deliver the same performance and reliability level we've expected from Volkswagen cars? Let’s dive in! The first mass-produced sodium-ion batteries have found their way into an electric vehicle. The model is part of VolksWagen's joint venture in China called Sehold. It has a sodium ion battery can go 157 miles on a single charge and is much cheaper and safer than lithium batteries. The mass-produced pack, supplied by HiNa Battery and fitted in the Sehol brand's smallest model, the E10X, which is a compact urban electric vehicle with a very reasonable price and excellent range that Volkswagen sells in great quantities in China, is a perfect example. The joint venture was set up in December 2017 and is based in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui province. Volkswagen and JAC each owned 50% of the equity. In May 2020, Volkswagen spent about $ 245 million to increase its share venture stake. Volkswagen's stake in the joint venture increased from 25% to 75% due to the acquisition, making the German carmaker the second foreign manufacturer to control a majority position in a Chinese vehicle production firm after Tesla's fully owned Shanghai facility. Manta5 Hydrofoiler XE-1 is the world's first water-bike that replicates the cycling experience, on water. The XE-1 all terrain hydrofoil bike can cruise through choppy waters, carve up oceans and relax on the river. The Hydrofoiler has been in production for seven years and went through seven prototypes before Manta5 arrived at the finished product. The carbon-fiber reinforced nylon propeller produces thrust at low speeds and reduces drag at top speed powered by a lithium ion battery that lasts up to an hour of ride time this battery can be easily removed and charged from a standard outlet which takes about five hours an onboard heads-up display shows battery level distance and speed which caps out at 13 miles per hour or 21 kilometers per hour propelled by a 460 watt brushless ebike motor three levels of assistance are available to the rider. You can ride on oceans, rivers and lakes, handling moderate chop and swell. The front tiller section of the Hydrofoiler self-levels and help to punch through chop and over swell as you ride. Bike Material Details: Strengthened carbon fibre which is set with high performance epoxies (front and rear hydrofoils) Aircraft grade TIG welded 606-T6 aluminium (frame) Vacuum formed ASA plastic (buoyancy modules) All fixtures have been designed and made to avoid corrosion.
